Every year January 1st brings a rejuvenating feeling that many individuals rely on as a source of motivation to start driving the new year on a better foot than they left the last. This rejuvenation feels more important than ever as 2021 starts with folks having quite literally survived 2020 and all its never-before-seen challenges.

Individuals are not the only group who can relish the idea of being better in a new year as businesses can have the same drive for improvement. While they may share the same type of end goal, a key difference seems to be that businesses, more often than individuals, develop the most important piece of the New Year’s resolution puzzle: A plan.

The manufacturing process, with all its facets and intricacies, takes every work order and step in the assembly process as an opportunity to remind the manufacturer that, “assuming everyone understands something can be a fatal failure and lead to missed delivery dates and negative impressions being left on customers, especially with those crucial first orders.” Caltronics Design & Assembly is making it a top priority in 2021 to address this type of situation head-on and reiterate our 3 quality objectives as an explicitly stated part of the process, at every stage of it, as opposed to an assumed one.

Implementation of Our 2021 Plan

In order to be successful in our implementation, Caltronics Design & Assembly has taken or scheduled the following steps:

1. Put extra focus on our quality objectives as stated in our Quality Manual;

2. Review customer satisfaction and input as part of the Management Review process;

3. Maintain metrics in a more effective and usable format;

4. Remind all personnel at every stand-up meeting that we only accomplish improvement as a team of individuals upholding the quality objectives.

As an ISO-certified manufacturer, our Quality Manual serves as the backbone of everything we do as a company. To expound upon that analogy even further, we could look at the individual quality objectives as the vertebrate within that spine. When all parts of this spine are combined and working together, it allows individual personnel to stand tall and act as a cohesive team, as one body. We know though, that business is not done with a single team, rather it is our team and our customer’s team coming together to accomplish something. This coming together is something Caltronics Design & Assembly believes in completely; this is why our experts are always available to serve as the mouth and voice of this body and communicate crucial information to you when you need it most.
