Maintaining Quality Objectives Through 2021

Manufacturers have been facing reduced supply, inflated prices, and increased lead times since the beginning of 2021. Unfortunately, forecasts show that these conditions will continue to persist in at least some fashion for the remainder of the year. Caltronics Design & Assembly has been one of many affected manufacturers, and as a part of our 2021 plan, we are continually working to mitigate risk to your projects while striving for a satisfactory customer experience during this temporary crisis. Here is what Caltronics is doing to address these shortcomings in the global supply chain while maintaining high levels of quality and service standards.

Emphasizing On-Time Deliveries

Caltronics values transparency in its objectives and the overall customer experience, and an important facet of this is on-time delivery. Orders that were traditionally quoted at approximately 4 weeks now have lead times of up to 46 weeks because the design requires an in-demand part. Caltronics Design & Assembly believes that quality is worth the wait. To maintain this high standard while also emphasizing the customer experience, we work to find the best balance between first-choice parts and a desirable delivery window. If possible, we will always deliver orders to customers with first-choice parts if time permits. If, on the other hand, the customer has a strict delivery window, we will accommodate that need by sourcing comparable parts that can meet this demand.

Caltronics Design & Assembly will always prefer to go through authorized distributors or OEMs to avoid unnecessary risks that could jeopardize the completion of a quality product. However, the customer’s preference will always be the priority, so we will stay transparent and communicative to reach a satisfactory result. When shorter lead times are the priority, Caltronics will obtain parts from an unproven source after customer approval. However, we will only do this with explicit permission while acknowledging that such a source is being considered only at their request.

Our Promise to You

We vet every new supplier using the information they provide (i.e. documents on a website) and will supplement this vetting process by assessing our past experiences working with them (i.e. professionalism prior to ordering). This rigorous evaluation will minimize risk for your project, preventing incidents such as counterfeit parts or a missed delivery window. We assess every supplier, and will take extra care when choosing one that is unproven. While we are unable to guarantee the future or completely mitigate all risks involved in manufacturing and sourcing, we have and will continue to guarantee our commitment to delivering quality experiences and products to our customers through collaboration and transparency. If you are interested in learning more about our promise to you, or are looking for a trusted and dedicated manufacturing partner, contact Caltronics today. We would love to hear from you.
