Big Changes to Electromechanical Assembly at Caltronics!

Big Changes have come to Caltronics Design & Assembly via some improvements within the electromechanical assembly department, bringing it up to a level that can handle increasing demand while still upholding the standards we promise you. Our new department lead has steered these improvements as they have discovered new needs and existing inefficiencies within the processes they use.

Improvements to Process, Personnel, and Workspace

The area where we have had the most tangible and noticeable improvement has been personnel. Caltronics boasts a capable team that has shown a dedication to upholding the company’s quality objectives and process improvements through the orders it has taken on this year. Our lead has been working closely with the documentation team utilizing our continuous improvement processes (e.g., change requests and continuous improvement forms) to update the instructions for assemblies. Updates include cutting down on inefficiencies and tweaking steps that create chokepoints, among other improvements.

Beyond the personnel, we have improved these services by building up a dedicated workspace just for these assemblies. We now have a continuous workbench dedicated to electromechanical assemblies, increasing efficiencies by making an assembly line style of setup possible. It has also proven effective at decreasing the number of nonconforming units that need to be caught during testing. An entire run can be set up in a row, ensuring uniform quality and work at each step.

Capabilities of Our Improved Electromechanical Assembly Department

This renewed department handles a variety of your final assembly needs, from finished pieces that you place into the final unit to completed subassemblies assembled into the final product. We have listed our most offered services on our Electromechanical Assembly page in greater detail, including custom cable harnessing, installation into the housing, and turnkey options, to name a few. We also offer potting and encapsulation services through this department to better protect the inner components from damages resulting from extreme temperatures and movements. These services can also protect components from prying eyes as we offer tinted fillers in addition to the standard clear option.

The Caltronics Design & Assembly Promise

Whether your needs are contained to just this department, or these services are the culmination of your collaborative experience with Caltronics, you can rest assured that the assembly services offered are more capable than ever of delivering a quality finished product.
